Tapered, directional, aggressive, all-mountain classic that cuts through any type of terrain with ease.
The Maelstrom is taking snowboarding back to its roots, with a few new-school twists. This tapered, directional, cambered board is meant for cruising, carving, floating through pow, and charging steeps. Comfortable all over the resorts, the Maelstrom offers the edge control of a traditional, old-school feel, by adapting modern technology like added traction bumps along the edges and a hybrid directional camber profile for smooth turn initiation and exit.
Please note: Alternate base color schemes are used to avoid extra plastic base material waste during production! Base colors vary between grey and black. Base colors may not always be guaranteed, however we do our best to honor any special requests.

Rocker in the nose leading into traditional camber under foot. Float effortlessly through powder and lock-in on groomers.
Powerful, snappy and stable. Directional flex.
Extra edge contact points to give your board more edge control and stability, especially in icy conditions.
A replacement for carbon fiber with similar characteristics; 2 straight Basalt Stringers are strung tip-to-tail to increase pop for jumping, torsional snapback for smoother carving AND stability at speed by damping those nasty vibrations.
A tapered tail and setback stance help drive power from the back end of your board through the nose, and make the nose float more easily in deep snow conditions with less effort.
Tapered, directional, aggressive all-mountain classic that cuts through any type of terrain with ease. A best seller and team favorite.

Absolutely love this board! It charges so hard and the camber has precision pop. I mostly ride big mountain backcountry and resort here in the nw. Perfection is the right word.

This is a board that is designed for the hard chargers in the crew, great float in powder and responsiveness for those that demand to cut through rough conditions. The taper gives it enough float and the camber gives it the pop to maintain edgehold and stability when you need it most.
Keep in mind that the waist width is a little on the narrow side for the folks with larger boot sizes, as I ended up booting out a handful of times while riding this slayer. Other potentially good options would be the Story or Pyre for folks with size 11 or larger.

This is the most fun board I’ve ever ridden and changed the way I ride. The board pops well with some effort, chargers through chunder, lands jumps or cliffs solidly but what stuck out to me the most was the carving. Never before could I get into a deep heel side carve in firm snow and the board just holds and wont slip out. This board absolutely crushes big, high speed turns.

Great board for carving! Thought it might be too stiff for me (an intermediate rider) but I found this board encourages you to carve confidently. It carves really well and I have a lot of fun just cruising around the mountain. I am on the east coast and I found that the two bumps on each edge really help the board grip enough so that you don’t need to worry about slipping when you are on the edge. It is still early season on the east coast and I think I hit several things with the base and the edge, however, everything looks fine and the board seems to be really durable! Love the board, hope to ride this on powder one day!

Wow love this board! Iv been trying some other brands and boards to get my feel for the “me” board that matches my style and preferences and this is it! The tip wants to float over anything and has more flex than the rest of the board so no vibrations make it to my feet. It has a great edge hold and I feel very secure and in control of my turns. The pop is amazing but does require some force to engage the pop up. It’s definitely a more stiff board but has the playfulness if you engage it correctly, not too difficult.
My old favorite board was the lib tech orca and that is such a great board too and I love the surf ride of it. This Maelstrom is the only thing iv ridden that has a more fun and locked in edge carve than the Orca. That’s says alot because I love my Orca but the Maelstrom takes the #1 spot.
Carve is amazing and fluid and comfortable. Pop is great on an ollie but takes some effort to engage. It’s a directional board but going switch is not hard at all and feels safe. Butters like a champ, iv never caught an unexpected edge yet. It’s really light weight and looks awesome. I havnt taken it to the limits yet but got some pretty good speed and seems like it’ll be able to withstand alot more speed when I decide to crank it up under some better condition days.
I give it a 9/10 rating and have to say it’s the best board iv been on ever without a doubt. Thanks Niche I love this board! So glad to see companies like this treating the environment well while make A grade amazing boards.

Stable, fast, hard charging, hard carving, stiff, directional of my dreams. I love this board it does what I want it to do and then some it grabs really hard on the groomers and floats the powder with little effort. Really aggressive but I can still whip it around. Love it recommend it for anyone.

If I could give this board a 6 star review I would. This is the fastest board in Niches lineup. Prepare for big smiles and deep turns. This isn’t a snowboard this is a fun machine, a device bestowed upon us by Ullr. Fast and stable. Strong and responsive. The narrow waist allows for 360⁰ Euro carves. The basalt stringers will cradle your landing like mother. If you spend more time on the lift then on the run this boards for you.

This board reignited my love for snowboarding. The raddest rad dad, old school camber with a new school twist that I’ve strapped my feet to in a long time!

All mountain CHARGER!! This board is not a casual cruiser and does not like to go slow. But if your looking at this board my guess is that you want something that handles like a boss when laying it down. This board is amazing for EXACTLY THAT! Chopped landings? HANDLED! Deep pow reliability and float? CHECK! Hot Laps? NO PROBLEM!

This. Board. RIPS!!! Absolute big mountain gem. I love the feel, whether I’m carving, hitting cliffs, ripping tight trees or dealing with nasty conditions, I know this boards got my back!
10/10 reccomend this board for anyone looking to take their riding to the next level.

This board charges harder than any board I’ve ever rode!!! I finally found the perfect freeride ripper. I mostly ride big mountain in the sierras and travel a lot for freeride comps. This board handles any variable snow and steep terrain like a boss and is so fun in pow!

This board made me a better and more confident rider the first day I got too ride one. Brings back traditional style camper with some fun rocker in the nose for 180 …butters and float in fresh snow. 20 plus years of ridding hand me down gear to this beast truly change the game for me. If you have in hesitation in buying and new snowboard to spoil your self after ridding the same board for years, pull the trigger on this board and be making the turns you were born to make.

The best snowboard that I have ever ridden! This board charges, stays on top of the snow, blows through crust, and killer pop. If you like to go fast this board is for you!
