As most of you know, our commitment to truth and transparency is at the heart of who we are as a company. During the recycling of our most recent batch of snowboards, we discovered a production error that prevents these boards from being recycled at their end of life. Niche was not aware of this issue until after production and sale, and we are disappointed by the oversight. Our manufacturer has committed to taking full responsibility for this accidental error and is implementing measures to prevent this from happening in the future.
Fortunately, the issue does not affect the safety, durability or performance of the snowboards; it only impacts the end-of-life recyclability with Recyclamine®. The boards were still produced using Niche’s sustainable materials and practices that we have championed from our inception.
Our commitment to sustainability hasn’t changed. At the end of their life, we’ll make sure these boards are reused, upcycled, or donated so they don’t end up in landfills. This is all part of our promise to work toward zero waste.
What we plan to do:
• As a thank-you for your understanding, and to make this right, we’re offering a discount to customers affected by this error. It’s one small way we hope to rebuild trust while continuing to improve. We will include instructions and a discount code at the end of this message. This discount will be available for one year.
• In the spirit of keeping Niche boards out of landfills and continuing to serve a greater purpose, any snowboards that are returned to Niche will be donated to charities and nonprofits dedicated to getting new users out on snow who might not otherwise be able to.
